Brief About

CCHC is non-profit social welfare organization that works with other organisations and individuals, and people of all races with the sole purpose of creating suitable environment, restoring hope and opportunities in people. 

CCHC programmes of activities have been categorised into three: short, medium, and long terms.

CCHC is registered at the registrar general department of Ghana and accredited by The Social Welfare of Ghana to operate as national non-governmental organization with the recognition registration number D.S.W.../ 7099.

CCHC principal activities are Professional Guidance and Counselling; Social Studies and Research Works; Human Resource Development and Entrepreneurship Aid; Schools and Community Outreach Programs; Women and Children; Community and Rural Development; Health, Population and Drug Abuse; Small-Scale Enterprise Development; Religion and Welfare Development; Educational and Vocational Skills, Advocacy and Research and Policy, and Human Rights.    

 

Brief History

This organisation was started as Yefulkay Discipleship and Writing Ministry in 2012 by Maxwell Kobina Acquah as a schools and community outreach organisation. The name was changed to Christ Centered Counseling Network and officially registered in January, 2017 to reach out to the poor, vulnerable, rural communities, and help humanity as a whole.

The organisation name has changed to Counselling and Care for Humanity Centre (CCHC) as a result of some people who thinks our programme of activities is limited to Christians. We want everybody who needs or wants our help or support or wants to donate feel free to come to us.

 

Mission

The mission of Counselling and Care for Humanity Centre (CCHC) is to partner with Schools, Colleges, Tertiary Institutions, Humanitarian Aids Organisations, Religious Bodies, Rural Community Leaders and Individuals to create suitable environment, restore hope and opportunities in people and the society as a whole.

 

Objectives

Prevent and control social vices or deviant behaviours in the society.

To identify specific problems of students, individuals, and the community as a whole for appropriate action to be taken.

Bridge the gap between the vulnerable or disadvantage children and the advantage children.

Goals

Our goals is to counsel the children, youth, depressed, and parents; and seek to eradicate or reduce poverty in the society; and create a sound social, economic, intellectual and moral environment to our targeted groups.

CAUSES/ACTIVITIES


The CCHC is poised in dealing with social problems of unemployment, economic hardship, dependency burden and social vices by Professional Guidance and Counselling Training Seminars; Social Studies and Research Works; Human Resource Development and Entrepreneurship Aid;  Schools and Community Outreach Programs; Women and Children; Community and Rural Development; Health, Population and Drug Abuse; Small-Scale Enterprise Development; Religion and Welfare Development; Educational and Vocational Skills, Advocacy and Research and Policy, and Human Rights.     


1. PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING:


CCHC organises professional guidance and counselling training for counsellors, teachers, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and many others to acquire knowledge and skills that enables them to counsel children, youth, and the people in their various communities.

Counselling is needed in our life to help learn how to deal more effectively with situations such as depression, addiction and substance abuse, stress, problems with self-esteem, grief, issues related to mental and emotional health, family issues, marital problems, career problems, academic concerns, indiscipline among students and youths, and other social vices or deviant behaviours.

Counselling can be defined as giving of advice; to recommend; or to urge the acceptance of an action (Webster dictionary). Strong’s concordance defines counselling as ‘giving advice; to deliberate or resolve; to speak a matter; a consultation, a session; to sit down together; to give guidance or a plan.


 

2. SOCIAL STUDIES AND RESEARCH WORKS:


CCHC comprises of professionals who are always researching into problems and issues and propose viable or appropriate solutions to it.

Social studies, is the integrated study of the social sciences, humanities and history.

CCHC is dedicated to conducting social research and action programs to promote the social wellbeing of children, adolescents or young adults, and adults or people.

CCHC seeks to bridge the gaps between social studies and research works, action and policies implementations concerning children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. We believe that academic research can help to involve the views of the ordinary to be part of action and policy debate hence providing equal opportunity.


CCHC concept of Social Studies and Research Works consider the following:

Social Innovation, Health Education, Child Labour and Trafficking, Adolescents Reproductive Development, and Socio-economic Development 

  1. Social Innovation – training the youth to take initiatives, business ideas, and establish their businesses.
  2. Health Education – adolescent reproduction health, sexually transmitted diseases, consequences of abortion, and among others.
  3. Child Labour and Trafficking  – causes, preventive measures and control
  4. Adolescent Reproductive Development – changes/stages physiological and anatomical features, and personal hygiene.
  5. Children, Students and Youth and Usage of the social media and networks.
  6. Socio-Economic Development – social innovation and economic development initiatives. 

CCHC has already conducted a couple of social research works on the increase of social vices and its effects on the people in a society or community. The research is with the view of designing alternative development strategies that recognizes the need to prevent and control social vices, teenage pregnancy and street children, helping the vulnerable people especially children.


 

3. HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP AID:

Economic wellbeing of an individual and the society as a whole is our heart desire.

CCHC has determined to help business organisations, institutions, and individuals to increase their knowledge, skills, education, and abilities to take initiatives and work effectively.

CCHC seeks to train youths and adults on how to creating new products or services to address social or environmental needs.

Human Resource Development and Entrepreneurship Aid is an integrated Social innovation which seeks to create new social structures that allow issues of justice, education, environmental protection, sustainability and/or community development to be reframed so that new solutions can come forward. This is what CCHC is determined to do to create suitable environment, restoring hope and opportunities in people.

 

Strategies of CCHC to help in HRD and Entrepreneurship Aid are:

  1. Developing organisational models, systems and practices for planning, initiating and supporting entrepreneurial goals or endeavours
  2. Organising social innovation workshops or seminars for youths, and community members. 
  3. Partnering vocational/technical institutions to help children and youth develop the required technical skills or professional field of study. 
  4. Partnering schools and colleges to help students identify their career and develop it.
  5. Seeking government grants and sponsorship from organizations and individuals to help trained youths and adults to establish their own businesses.
  6. Integrating computer training and vocational training in the development of children, youth and parents and guidance.

 

4. SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS:

CCHC embarks on schools and community outreach programmes with the societal moral values and norms, social innovation initiatives, campaign against child labour and trafficking, and fight against all forms of social vices. 


Some of the programmes of activities or areas CCHC embarks are:

  1. Measures to Control and Prevent Teenage Pregnancy, Street Children, Drug Abuse, and all forms of Social Vices.
  2. Adolescent Sex Education.
  3. Anti-Child Labour and Trafficking Campaign. 
  4. Social Innovation Initiatives 
  5. Organising Free Remedial and Vacation Classes for Students.
  6. Socio Economic Development Projects
  7. Children and Youth Educational Rights
  8. Children and Youths Health Education
  9. General Welfare of Children and Youths.


What CCHC outreach programmes produces?

CCHC schools and community outreach programmes  

  1. Gives students the opportunity to get involved in community service on a regular basis, with projects to choose from almost daily.
  2. Helps to identify specific problems of students, individuals, and the community as a whole for appropriate action to be taken.
  3. Builds better relationships between the elite and the ordinary.
  4. Helps to extends government projects (national cake) to the deprived areas or communities.
  5. Helps to control and prevent social vices in schools and communities.
  6. Helps to seek government grants and individual support for vulnerable children, and needy students. 

CCHC team understands outreach programs to be a specialised programme designed to effect change in people’s life. It is carried through public broadcasting through a variety of services, educational materials, and collaborative activities that ensures the engagement of the target group and foster community participation in addressing issues of concern.

Outreach limited to educational issues refers to activities that support formal or classroom-based education, as well as non-formal or vocational education that occurs outside the classroom.

Educational outreach campaigns provide educational experiences for young people in classrooms, libraries, after-school programmes, community-based organisations, museums, etc., as well as supporting the professional development of the professionals and paraprofessionals who work with them.



5. WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Counselling and Care for Humanity Centre (CCHC) addresses the social needs of vulnerable populations of women and children at all stages of life - from pregnancy, birth, childhood, adolescence, through adulthood to older age.

CCHC seeks to enhance the wellbeing of Women and Children by helping rural communities and the society to identify, develop, implement and evaluate approaches and interventions that foster the wellbeing of women and children.



6. COMMUNITY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

CCHC has developed range of strategies and activities that seek to improve the welfare and livelihood of people living in rural communities.



7. HEALTH, POPULATION AND DRUG ABUSE

CCHC is determined to help deal with health, population, and drug abuse problems. Below are some of our strategies:

  1. Partner health centres reach out to people in the coastal lines and ghettoes to screen for substance misuse and substance disorders.  
  2. Help organise workshops and outreach programmes to prevent and control misuse and related health consequences.
  3. Population control programmes.
  4. And many other methods to deal with the problem.


8.  RELIGION AND WELFARE DEVELOPMENT

CCHC is determined to work with religious bodies to promote the welfare of people in the society.

CCHC is not a religious group but we work with religious bodies to create suitable environment, restore hope and opportunities in people.



9. HUMAN RIGHTS

CCHC defined human rights as the right for human beings to enjoy life.  Every human being has the right to live and enjoy life.

CCHC believes that counselling helps to guide and shape a person. No one is born and was born to live immorally, life situations influences people to live contrary to social norms and values. CCHC is determined to help shaping the life of people.

The registration process started in October 2016 and finally got it registered on January 12, 2017 with registration code number CG001472017, TIN number C000757360X, and International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC code) 9499 respectively and accredited by The Department of Social Welfare with the registration number D.S.W.../ 7099.

CCCN is non-profit Christian organization that seeks to restore hope and opportunities in people. All activities or services of this organization are centered on our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST. We visit Schools and Colleges, Tertiary Institutions, Christian Organizations, and Communities with our Bible based counseling.

MISSION

The mission of Counselling and Care for Humanity Centre (CCHC) is to partner with Schools, Colleges, Tertiary Institutions, Humanitarian Aids Organisations, Religious bodies, Rural Community Leaders and Individuals to create suitable environment, restore hope and opportunities in people and the society as a whole.


We seek to:

1. Educate children, students, youth, and the general public the effects or consequences of Social Vices or Deviant Behaviours.

2. Embark on anti-child labour and anti-child trafficking campaign.

3. Seek sponsorship from organisations and individuals to sponsor the needy but brilliant students.

4. Educate the general public on the importance of Formal Education.

5. Organise learning, training and development opportunities to self-employed youth, technical and vocational students, and workers.

6. Provide assistance, love and spiritual care to our targeted groups.

7. Save humanity from destruction. 



OBJECTIVES


Our objective is to create a suitable environment, restore hope and opportunities in people.

We are determined to help:

  1. Prevent and control social vices or deviant behaviors in the society.
  2. Bridge the gap between the vulnerable or disadvantage children and the advantage children.
  3. Gives students the opportunity to get involved in community service on a regular basis, with projects to choose from almost daily.
  4. To identify specific problems of students, individuals, and the community as a whole for appropriate action to be taken.
  5. Build better relationships between the elite and the ordinary.
  6. To extend government projects (national cake) to the deprived areas or communities.
  7. To partner or work with Christian or religious humanitarian or social groups to organize workshops or seminars for parents and guardians and paraprofessionals so that they can understand the importance of Education and wellbeing of children, students, and youths.
  8. To work with religious organizations and humanitarian or social groups for provision of social and educational needs to children, students, and youth.
  9. To eradicate or reduce poverty in the society.
  10. To reduce or eradicate teenage pregnancy and street children.

 

GOALS

Our goal is to guide and counsel the children, youth, depressed, and parents to:


  1. Shape the future of all (i.e. improvement in health and wellbeing of people.


  1. Create Social Vices or Deviant behavior - free environment (that is development of self-confidence, productivity, and greater sense of vitality and peace of mind).
  2. Reduce or eradicate poverty, hunger, and unemployment in the society.
  3. Create fair education opportunity to all children. 
  4. Help children, students, and youths to identify and develop their talent.
  5. Create a sound social, economic, intellectual and moral environment to our targeted groups.
  6. Help government to fill the short falls of education.
  7.  Prevent street children, arm robbery, drug abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, and teenage pregnancy.   

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Council of Patrons, The Executive Council, and Managers of this humanitarian organisation wishes to notify the whole world of change of our name from Christ Centered Counseling Network to Counselling and Care for Humanity Centre.


NOTE: Name change approved by the Registrar General's Department of Ghana on 20th June, 2019.

All previous documents with the old name still remain valid.


Reasons:

1. It is a respond to suggestions by the general public to make the organisation open to all.


2. Our causes or objects were not limited to Christians.


3. We want all to be free to join, volunteer, support, and donate.


4. We are for humanity.
